Ord River Road House is located in Kununurra, which is at the eastern extremity of the Kimberly in northern Western Australia. It is the largest town north of Broome and is situated among the scenic hills and ranges of the Kimberly Region.
Kununurra didn’t come into existence until the early 1960’s when it was built as a service town to accommodate the construction workers and farmers of the Ord River Scheme.
The Ord River Road House is open 24/7 providing not only petrol and general supplies, but also home cooked meals for lunch and dinner as well as fresh sandwiches, salads and freshly brewed coffee. Brumby’s is also conveniently located at the road house offering a variety of freshly baked breads, cakes and slices.
Conveniently located off the Victoria Highway next to the Lily Creek Lagoon, it is more than a petrol station and general store. With ice, pies, fishing tackle and bait there isn’t anywhere else you’ll need to go to stock up for your adventures on the river or around the Kimberly from the Ord River Road House.
